That's me! And the doglet!

Hello, I'm Mark

A lifelong love of animals, turned into a dream job

I've been around dogs (and cats, and gerbils, and pretty much every pet under the sun) my whole life, and there's nothing I love more than getting outdoors and exploring with a happy dog by my side.

Hollie is my Romanian rescue. She's been our best mate since she was 6 months old and is very much the inspiration behind pursuing my dream of working with dogs. Watching her happiness on a good walk made me want to bring that same joy to other dogs in the area.

So Cotswold Dog Club stays deliberately small. That means solo walks for dogs who need proper one-to-one attention, group walks that never turn into a crowd, and the same familiar face turning up on time, every time.

Where we walk

Canal paths, quiet lanes and secure private fields

The route is chosen for the dog, not for convenience. Nervous or reactive dogs get secluded or familiar routes with plenty of space; the confident ones get some freedom, fields and as much sniffing as the walk allows.

These are a handful of the regular favourites rather than the whole list. Routes rotate with the dog, the weather and the season, and I'm always happy to walk somewhere your dog already knows and loves.

Drop-in visits

Not just for dogs

Away on holiday, out at meetings, or visiting a friend? I can pop in to say hello, sort food and fresh water, empty litter trays, give medication and give them some fuss. Cats, rabbits, small pets and reptiles all welcome, and you'll get a message and a photo after every visit.

FAQs

Questions, answered

Which areas of Gloucester do you cover?+

Hempsted, Quedgeley, Hardwicke, Tuffley, Longford, Churchdown, Longlevens, Innsworth, Highnam, Abbeymead, Abbeydale, wider Gloucester and Cheltenham. If you're just outside that, ask anyway.

Are you insured and DBS checked?+

Yes to both β€” fully insured and DBS checked. Canine first aid training is in progress, and I'll update this page the moment it's certified.

Do you walk reactive or nervous dogs?+

This is exactly what the solo walks are for. We'll use quiet routes, secluded ground or familiar routes, and go at whatever pace your dog needs. Tell me everything at the meet & greet β€” the more I know, the better the walk.

How many dogs are in a group walk?+

Small, and matched on temperament, size and pace rather than whoever happens to be booked that day. If your dog wouldn't enjoy the group, I'll say so and suggest a solo walk instead.

What happens at the free meet & greet?+

I come to you, meet your dog properly, and we talk through routine, recall, harnesses, health, quirks and what you actually want from the walks. No obligation, no charge. If it's a good fit, we agree days and get going.

What about keys and bad weather?+

Keys are handled however you're most comfortable β€” a key safe is ideal. Walks go ahead in most weather, with towels on hand; in genuine extremes (ice, heatwave, storms) I'll shorten the walk, adjust the time, or swap it for indoor enrichment and let you know.
